To know what one does not know — this is true wisdom.
To not know yet pretend to know — this is a grave flaw.

The sage has no flaws,
Because they recognize flaws as flaws.
Precisely because they recognize flaws as flaws,
They remain free from flaws.

(Note: This passage from Chapter 71 of the Tao Te Ching emphasizes intellectual humility. The key philosophical terms are rendered as: "知不知" - knowing one"s limitations of knowledge; "病" - flaws/cognitive defects; "圣人" - the sage/enlightened person.)
