A gentleman's duty is fundamental, and the Tao is born from his foundation. Being filial to his younger brother is also fundamental to benevolence

Zengzi said, "I reflect on myself three times a day: Are you unfaithful in your plans? Do you distrust your friends? Do you pass on your teachings

Confucius said, "If a gentleman is not serious, he will not be powerful; if he studies, he will not be steadfast. If he is loyal and trustworthy, he will not be inferior to himself without friends. If he has made mistakes, he will not be afraid to change them
Zengzi said, "Be cautious in the end and pursue the future, and the people's morality will return to prosperity
Ziqin asked Zigong, "As for a nation, Confucius must listen to its politics, seek harmony, and restrain harmony." Zigong replied, "Confucius is gentle, virtuous, respectful, frugal, and yielding. What Confucius seeks is different from the harmony of human needs
Confucius said, "When a father is present, observe his will; when a father is absent, observe his actions; and if he does not change his ways after three years, it can be called filial piety

Those who are not poor but happy, and those who are rich but good at etiquette." Zigong said, "The Book of Poetry says," It is like cutting, it is like grinding. "What is this called harmony?" Zigong replied, "Only by bestowing it can we communicate that the Book of Poetry has already been written and inform those who come to know it
